Well to be honest Russ, I somehow didn't connect the incident when I was confronted with it, with the lunatic that overtook me some time before. Strange maybe but true. It only dawned on me when we were driving to the hospital. And since the volvo had an unusual number plate (CN=Cavan) I stopped on my way back to see the wreck and take that pic. In county Mayo you don't see Cavan plates that often, see...

He owes me all right but I did have the 'pleasure' of him, dreading to call his wife (on my phone...) to tell her what had happened...!

An interesting experience there, at least it was a single vehicle incident.

We once had a young Lad kill himself outside our house one dark morning by riding his motorbike into the back of a parked 4x4. Very distressing for his Father, whom he had just passed as he stood awaiting a bus, 200m before.

Oh my goodness. how tragic.

So Jaap, do you have to report all this to the Police?

Changed the front brake pads, just to be on the safe side going abroad shortly and put brand new Hankook winter tyres all around. One brake pad had a crack in the lining all the way through, never saw that before. The disc looked perfectly fine. I did have a brake pad lining completely fall off once but that wasn't on a citroen so fair enough:)

I do have a question on the windscreen washer, I noticed there's an electrical connector on the spray heads. What are they for?

I think they are heated Jaap...so they must be for the heating elements.

Hi Jaap,

Turby D got discs and pads when I came back from France with it; whenever that was. Late 2008? 85K miles?

Heated? Isn't that for Scandinavian models I wonder. hmm, so I don't need to find -25 Celcius screen washer (not sold in Ireland:( )

Robert I didn't check your maintenance record , but the discs are still fine and +40K for pads is reasonable I would think. Remember changing around 40 K on the much lighter Xantia as well.

The only problem I now have with Turby is that Liz takes it if I'm not quicker :) But I don't really mind :) So far, I think it's the best car I've ever had. Please stand by when we warp her to France and Holland once again soon!

Its a XM Jaap, of course you need -25 screen wash, as the XM heated nozzels won't work! ;)  ;)

Ahh, but they 16V is quicker!!!!
