Thanks Jim. Just sorting out some pics in windows 8, took me all morning. There's something not right with my touchpad/mouse so it's horrible to rotate pics and even download....laptop got stuck and ended up downloading everything double. In short, NOT happy with windows 8. It seems I only took 2 pics of turby Durby...

The house isn't mine but a nice B&B belonging to people from Canterbury and dog friendly
The shed, is, mine!
Please please let me find a nice ABS sensor in 2014:)
I have had contact with a guy who might be able to produce a sensor within the old Bendix OHM range. But I need a picture and OEM number for him so if anyone has a spare rear Bendix sensor, would some one be willing to send me a picture of it, please! It might be use full if I succeed, for future ABS sensor problems for other peopele as well. Thanks in advance, hope you like the pictures. Will endeavor to take another one if I don't forget!

Re: These, are the voyages of the starship Turby D.
I must confess I've been using Windows 8.1 now for a few weeks Jaap and despite early dislike due to unfamiliarity I do quite like it now and find some pars of it excellent. It does suffer 'funnies' though. I normally let mine sleep and hibernate when not using it but yesterday I shut it right down. Then it wouldn't boot properly... Took a couple of goes before it started up properly...
Been fine since..
If you haven't yet done so do upgrade to 8.1. beware it's a 3GB download and takes ages and ages to run the update even after it has downloaded..
Here's wishing you every success in your quest for the ABS sensor. It will be successful

Go Ubuntu! I may have Windows 8 on my laptop but I still revert to Ubuntu when I have serious stuff to do...russ92xmsed wrote:go Apple...ditch the windows rubbish
Windows is getting better. I have high hopes of Windows 9 and believe Windows 8 is a duffer as was Windows 98, Windows ME, 2000 and Windows Vista. It seems that Windows releases follow a pattern: good, bad, good, bad and so on..
Windows 95, NT, XP and 7 were all excellent so 8 had to be a duff one to maintain tradition...
Russ, the only experience I have with apple is Cox's, Gala, Braeburn and Bramley...
I do actually have an old Power Mac here doing a very valuable job as my web and email server. The irony is that it run Ubuntu server Linux!!!

Re: These, are the voyages of the starship Turby D.

Also updating macs is brilliant as I have just found on my IMAC. It was well out of date, and one upgrade has transformed it. So rather than buying a new operating system or computer, £20 and it's a totally different machine.
But of course there are limitations to Macs. And if your really into PC computers there is better operating systems like the one you suggest.

The one thing I just love, is the lack of fuss when it comes to MACs. Windows I find is just a pain in the neck.

Ubuntu is like that Russ, no fuss at all. It just does what it purports to do with no drama and no fuss.russ92xmsed wrote:The one thing I just love, is the lack of fuss when it comes to MACs. Windows I find is just a pain in the neck.
Which is not something you can ever say about windows. Don't I just know it from my professional life

Just today I managed to fill my Win8 laptop with Trojans from just a moments' inattention to what I was doing... Thank goodness McAfee came to the rescue... Still took me an hour nearly to sort out the remaining mess...
What I did would never happen with either Ubuntu or a MAC...
