The rad fans will be plugged and joined at each side behind the headlights... You will need to twist release the relay plugs from the plastic retainers under the slam panel behind each panel then there be a main fan harness plug connection plug the screwed on earths....
Theres no need to remove the plugs off the fan motors....

Re: CitroJim's XM V6 Rebuild...
Thanks for the links Dean, I can assure you this XM will be fairly dripping in the stuff. No nasty shocks found yet. Everything that looks crusty is sound under it.

So that's the nosecone off. The bumper insert is crusty but solid and as you can see, the rad is out, the battery box is out, the air box and the LHM reservoir are all out...
We're cookin' on gas
In fact that's the next thing to look at to isolate and disconnect...
Ohhh yes there is, on an S2 ES9 V6 it is the only way... Still, I cracked that and after a VERY good dose of spanner therapy this was the result at lunchtime:citroenxm wrote: Theres no need to remove the plugs off the fan motors....

Re: CitroJim's XM V6 Rebuild...
Ah well... Ill stick to the far far superior series 1 car then... And find them easyer... When the rads and fans come off a series one theres no wires what so ever hanging about.... Soooooo much tidyer...

I'll stick with the diesels! That LPG wiring looks like good fun to confuse matters even further!

Re: CitroJim's XM V6 Rebuild...
Hopefully the autumn will be characterised by lovely weather Dean. Just perfect for a good XM spannerfest. Usually the weather magically improves as soon as the kids go back to school...
That LPG system is a 'mare Robert. makes the rest of the XM wiring look good! Honestly, whoever did the conversion was about as much good as a chocolate fireguard
I shall improve it upon reassembly...
Paul, we'll have no discussions about the pros and cons of S1 vs. S2 please. We have enough of that with Xantias
So has the S1 got no fans then Paul? What does it have then, a couple of Pukka-Wallahs waving palm fronds at the rad?
Must say I'm loving every minute of the XM so far....
Great therapy

Re: CitroJim's XM V6 Rebuild...
No jim it has a "well thought" of plug and connections to simply disconnect at each side.. The harness comes away for the fans as a seperate front harness....

Well, that is superior then Paulcitroenxm wrote:The harness comes away for the fans as a seperate front harness....

Mind you, it's no trouble really to disconnect the fan motor plugs. Easier than I thought it would be...

That's a lot of cars Paul
All the best for Friday too
Here's a quick shot of what remains in the engine bay as at 4PM today...

More later, off out for a meal with friends shortly...
