Little bit of fettling yesterday. I met John who is a very nice chap. He pressure tested the new spheres I purchased, and showed me his XM collection. It's impressive!

Anyway, first was a new set of plugs.

Next was removal of the old (crusty) leads

Replaced with nice new blue ones

I then changed the front spheres to try and rectify the slight issue I'm having with the ride...but it made little difference.

I have covered 1000 miles now tho.

The new ones are 50 bar. I have not checked the old yet.

Chances are that I confused the good Captain.
Very good at spouting rubbish as I climbed on one of the piles of XM bits to reach the sphere tester.
H & S prevented me letting him too far into the unit.
I also barred photos as a mountain of XM spares is not a pretty sight.
For the record the new spheres were Citroen NOS so of some age on the shelves (mine and the dealers).
Both recorded exactly 50 bar as marked on the box so Citroen ones do not seem to loose pressure while stored.
The pair that Captain Slow had obtained were I think different makes.
One tested at 50 bar the other at 60 bar so I suspect they have gone back for refund.
Will add in the old sphere pressures when I get to test them.

It's good to see they were at least fully charged and very interesting about the NOS ones still being right up there.

A local motorfactors. Kimbers.

Today for a change I went down to a local car show, called Gosporteers. It's an annual event, every Aug bank holiday. I paid my fiver and went into the event, along with a friend in his BX and Tony in his tamora.

We all parked in family cars 91 onwards. We had a good look round then I got a bit bored, so I waxed my car and the BX.

Each segment is judged and my XM was awarded best in class. The BX was runner up, and the tamora wad disqualified.

I had to go and collect a trophy too.

We were the only 3 cars in that segment...

Yours is a very similar one to mine bar being black and called a Prestige. Even down to the alarm LED and press-button... It raises an interesting question. When I put mine on insurance cover the insurance company insisted mine is an Sei despite the registration document calling it a Prestige Auto. In fact at one point the called it an XM Sei Prestige Auto :?

So, what's the difference between a Prestige and an Sei?
