Well done entrepid Wilschuts! glad you three are back home safely.
I saw the ferry on the news....arson apparently.
Annoying about the window and radio, but that's minimal damage really. Loving the retro trailer look.
Happy new year to you all.

I can only think the trailer was originally a boat trailer, judging by the length of the draw bar.

Thanks, my last citroen (?) will have to make the most of things! And stop braking down!
Nice try Dieselman but it's even better: the trailer was of a piano tuner! With exceptional suspension, I think it came from a Wartburg

Crikey, quite a journey. I've always regarded long journeys as an opportunity to get to know my cars, they on the other hand all seem to want to see the back of me!

Found a new mud flap. Next issue: steering rack gaiters. I cannot find any thing about them in Haynes or XM pocket mechanic. Did I get away with the drivers side using a piece of bicycle tube, the other side is a disaster. In order to put a new one in, you have to take off the cylinder on the steering column.
Any tricks for this one....

No it can be done on the car with a bit of effort.
First get genuine gaiters from Citroen.
They are not expensive but are the only ones with the moulded locking ring.
The rest just pull back off.
Wrote the job up on here last summer.
See the end of Dean's "Steering rack replacement" in the self help.

Surely the ram bolt just needs removing and maybe the ram lifting a little.

I tried to do this on a loose steering house, no luck. I think it'll have to come off. By the way, they are very very tight those bolts. Have you done it on a car yet, Dieselman? There must be a way..
