Having just had to replace the oil dipstick on my XM, I find the plastic top on the dipstick for the newlyacquired ZX has also disintegrated/vanished. I hope the bits didn't make their way down the tube...

Feeling rather pleased that the old dear has returned 46.6mpg over the last 605 miles.

A couple of pictures from today after the mists finally lifted. The second one also shows my 28000 mile Clio RT Auto. It really isn't a very impressive auto box but the condition of the car is fabulous. What is missing is my ZX, I will try to organise a pic of the trio of old French dames soon!

Impressive! Nice sheen to it and the wheels look almost new.

The first generation of Clio has always been my favourite version. Looks very good with the XM, very in keeping... Could be a drive way from the early 90's! :D

I like that Clio as well. But the grey car isn't a Multipla, is it?? I don't live in the UK but I don't recognise it. My best guess would be an opel of some sorts.

Facelifted Multipla in light blue - it seems my camera phone has muckked up the colours because the XM is no rare colour it is Mandarin.

The Multi is absolutely no improvement on the first generation, in fact even forgetting about the focus group restyling, it is worse in several ways: bonnet no longer has gas struts, tailgate release (microswitch) both freezes and fails due to moisture and no longer any internal tailgate release by the driver's seat. Even with my reservations, however, there is still no more practical car for a family of six (now all adults) who might want to carry luggage at the same time as transporting passengers. Hence we have had one almost continuously now for the last fourteen years.

Before the first Multipla we had a Renault Savanah for several years and prior to that my first Citroen a CX Familale.

Savanahs were big cars. My uncle had a k reg one I think, with the third set of seats. Very practical and a good car.
