:) Turby Diesel still doing very well, indeed. Happy with that. I am going to spend more money on her in the form of wipers, timing belt sets and auxiliary belts. We don't want her to go wrong, do we.

Turby didn't go wrong, even on the unexpected funeral trip to the good old home country. Touch wood.

I did get the slowly disintegrating strut tops swapped today, some unexpected nice surprise. I've got newly made rubber strut tops now, sorry that I didn't bring any camera.

I am happy to report that there is a good difference in the steering, much sharper. Happy days for now.
At some stage I'll make a new topic for those who want rubber, first I need to get home.

And happy to report, I've got nothing to report other than there were no technical hick ups on our 2175 mile round trip. Good car, that XM. Very economical as well. I just need to hoover the old barge, the dog lived in it for too long :)

Well, I haven't hoovered it yet but I did do a search for timing belt kits.

I wonder if I can safely buy Continental-Contitech or would Gates be bettter.

I, am trying to find the cheapest Gates but hey, there are so many more brands I've never heard of. Mapco, GK, Hella, Bosch, Dayco, SKF, Febi, INA, Ruville, NTN,Magnemite, NK.....and they're all differently priced everywhere. I know you'd go for both of Continental or Gates but Continental isn't European or so I thought? @ Furriegurrie, you've got some great idea getting them for the right price, let me know :)

They have Gates and Skf too. Standard price of the 3 is comparable, but the Contitech one is cheapest with the discount. Not sure about shipping to Eire....but if it is cheap enough we could possibly figure something out where I send it to you for instance.
