Not had much time to play this week due to work but have had a good look this aft.
Gave the engine a steam clean and it's come up a treat. Taken all the gunk off to reveal a clean engine . . . and the paintwork is actually gold!
The wiring plug to the Oil Pressure Switch wasn't fixed to the switch.(Don't know if it had never been on or if the pressure washer had forced it off). Gave it a quick clean inside and refitted to the switch. Now when I switch the ignition on the needle "kicks" but doesn't register whether engine running or not.
Having had a good look at the mechanism on the throttle body it seems as though the slider is not moving to its end position at rest and leaves a slight gap. The screw to the right of the throttle body which would allow this to rest at is extreme is seized and is not easy to get at with a screwdriver. So my brother is bringing his box of tricks over tomorrow to unseize it and see what difference that makes.
The NSF foglight was a bulb but the front saloon light has a little bit more to it as the bulb is okay.
The OSF sidelight glass is dull and needs changing and the although the light works there is obviously an earth fault on it.
The radiator has been flushed and the muck that came out of it was unreal. Refilled with coolant, bled the system and works spot on now.
Should know a lot more tomorrow . . . after I've worked through SWMBO's list of jobs ( well, selected those I'm going to do and those that can wait

)
