Yes, I'm in Hungary and retrofitting HID (unless the manufacturer provided this option originally) isn't legal here.
Vince is in the UK (unfortunately*) so it probably doesn't apply to him.
* Unfortunately because if he was any closer, I could ask him to polish my car, too... [emoji14] Just look up on the forum what wonders he can do with paint, you'll see...

Tha car looks great, Misha. Nice wheels. I have a set of those theat need refurbing to go on.
Do you have a series 2 fetish. Your car started with S2 wheeltrims, now it has an S2 nosecone. Perhaps You just can't let go...

It have nose cone and improved headlights from european s2.
S2 nose cone looks more attractive to me.
About s2 headlights....they were a must.I tried everything with s1 headlights including removal of internal plastic lenses which become yellow with time and i got nothing but bad and narrow lightening.
Lightening is excellent now and there is no need for HID kit at all.
It's not a fetish...i'm just trying to make it a good looking one.

The car looks terrific, Misha, dazzling.
Know the desire to make improvements, Misha. Did the same on my fifth, and last, Rover - a 1975 P6 3500S (V8 manual), acquired in 1985.
Always kept internal and external appearances essentially the same, but "updated" to include
- four Hella halogen headlights, 80W x 2 dip, 100W x 4 main, plus appropriate relays (originally Lucas 60/37.5W "glow-worms")
- pair of Kenlowe fans (originally massive and dangerous item attached to water pump)
- electronic breakerless ignition (OE contact breaker heel would last a few weeks before timing wandered)
- electric fuel pump in boot, to replace original engine mechanical (vapour locking)
- cooling system header tank (none originally)
- second battery charging location, for camping
- full stainless exhaust (Gough)
- 5-speed box (ex-SD1, and one of the first UK conversions)
All good fun, and guaranteed to get low marks for originality in concours judging. Driving competitions something else, though.
Learned a lot, and drove it all over Europe for about ten years.
One of the two best cars I've ever driven through Scottish glens. The current XM is the other.

I took a few pictures after washing my XM today.The look has been updated a bit....tailgate glass was tinted in 95% few weeks ago because i was tired of rear screens/curtains anymore...fresh new sills and dashboard trim by windshield is replaced:
A nice '95 V6 24V manual S2 Exclusive with beige leather,wood trim and low mileage showed up in our "sales" site.I might lay my hands on it,but i'm affraid of Diravi.
