Took the plunge and bought both of these. If they aren't perfect they can be made to fit with a bit of persuasion. ;)

Just need to find another stubby one and jobzagudun.

Just got my insurance renewal quote. How does £140 compare with the rest of you?

For my better half we were quoted £156 (from confused, quote by performance direct) and that's also for a 2.0i but estate and auto. can't complain really as it's less than a third of what they rob us for on the ZX for now (I guess it being less than 21 years old is a factor in the higher price though as "classic" insurance seems to have a rolling 21yr cutoff from what I've seen)

1996 ZX 1.9TD Elation, Hatch, also Gris quartz metallic, daily workhorse and tatty with it...

That's a good price. I would be happy with that.

I have just done mine and paid the same with footman James, lowest quote was performance direct with alloys and moretts £114 fully comp but I limited mileage to 3k, I doubt I will do that this year.

The quote is with Flux Direct. I can't remember what I paid last year and I can't lay my hands on the docs at present to check.

Agreed value policies are well worth having for these cars now, to avoid Russ's experience.
Flux, James, etc have been in the classic car insurance business for years now, and know their stuff.
The prices above are pretty impressive, assuming that the cover is good.

I would imagine all of us are either garaged, limited mileage, classic policy and or older. To insure it through admiral with commuting and 12k with the car left on the road all the time is about £350 a year for me, owners of "one of the last" won't be able to get classic status in the eyes of insurers also.
