Captains log: all systems working in the right parameters.
Speedometer working faultless, out side temperature gauging very low temperatures :(
Average fuel consumption so far: 44,09 miles to the gallon.
Nothing fallen off, yet.
No technical issues.
No warning lights flashing.
All systems go! :)

Excellent Captain..warp speed ahead then. That's good fuel consumption figures, the Dilithium Crystals must be working well.

You should come here if you want warm temperatures. Apparently it's 158 degrees!!

Warp speed in a Diesel! :) Just 'Engage!!!! '

Think I'm gonna try that soon in another petrol citroen soon!
Now I know your fuel issues of late, Russ, I'm not a Diesel expert yet but just don't try warp speeds in your diesel!!!! :) I've tried it in my 2cv and you now what happened!! Happy day!

That's because it is  It's got mighty cold again around these parts..

Must come and visit your way if it's 158 degrees Russ. Is that C or F? ... or K? Judging on how chilly it is here it is most likely reading 158K and therefore about right

Hmm, one front brake pad which I very recently had seen and was OK, almost gone now.

So I put in a used brake pad (which I kept just for such an instance) but found the caliper turn very easily, just about by hand.

I have had this once before on my xantia, one brake pad gone. But in that case the caliper was very dirty and sticking but after changing that brake pad and cleaning the caliper, it somehow never occurred again. Coincidently the xantia was towed away today by a scrap metal guy, in a thunderstorm without brakes (handbrakes only) and stuffed full of old wheels, engines lawnmowers and all sorts of scrap metal. Daft Irishman...he told me he was bringing a car ambulance :)

Petty those brake pad warning lights systems always fail (the xantia didn't even have them)
On the petrol XM there's no 12 volts on the wires, on the diesel the wires have been cut but also no current on the loose ends. Typical..I'd love them to work really.

Mine is the same Jaap. Cut on the drivers side anyway.

End of an era then, saying good bye to the Xantia. Well at least you have a couple of great replacements!

Yes, the XM is a great replacement. I could almost say goodbye to the Xantia if I could replace them with more or less equivalent XMs...
