The headlining came off a S2. Don't blame me!!! :D
I do not think this was a concern at the removal Russ and it was more the condition and neither of us spotted the difference with the grab handles! Is the problem that the headlinings were specially made in the UK when the sunroofs were fitted, rather than an adaption of the originals? I am sorry you are having the further problems Neil and we did try to assist.
The loose cable against the wheel hub is for the brake pad wear sensor and most of mine have been cut.
With regards,
Matthew T.

I'm grateful for the headlining Matthew, it saves a lot of head scratching on the front part. The indents for the grab handles I can deal with, swapping from lhd to rhd is easy, it's the depth of the flat part of the headlining in relationship to the front part. I'm working blind on that score and once I decide how much depth to put in I'm committed - right or wrong.

Temp sensor?
That is the hydraulic pressure sensor.

Ah, you learn something new everyday. So where is the temp sensor that's under the front bumper?

Thanks Neil and after checking my cars I can confirm that the recessed grab handles are a sunroof/non-sunroof feature and nothing to do with S1/S2, ie the head-linings were the same in early and late cars. Unfortunately the UK sunroof mod is unique and the only real answer I suppose is to find a contemporary scrapper. Annoyingly a Citroen specialist garage local to me recently disposed of an identical car to yours in Olympic blue, plus it had the continental wheel trims! The outside temp sensors on my two earlier cars are just hanging loose in the front nosecone/bumper and the appearance matches the mirror sensor. Regards, Matthew T.

Is your sunroof apature larger than the factory fitted item, if so, fitting a headlining from a sunroof equipped car and trimming it to suit might be the answer.

Book says that temperature sensor is mounted on the front left bumper behind the front left foglamp.
Same item used but moved to the passenger mirror around the Mk1 facelift date.

The moulded section around the light unit has a completely different shape Will, which at least Neil now has in headlining we brought from France. That is interesting detail about the temp sensors John, although my two early rhd V6 12v with RP 4928 and 4938 are just a week apart and only one has the bumper sensor, plus the red steering wheel badge and earlier repeaters! I wondered if it was possible to do away with the fibreglass moulding and to stick the headlining to the sunroof cassette using velcro, as in the later type.

Hilarious! Even if it's a dog he should have known that the parts would be needed.
