It's like stepping back in time and the engine bay would put the factory to shame!
Will give the steam cleaner a try at the weekend to shift the veg but think I'll have to soak some bits the night before with a smidge of wd40 to help it out and try and get the leakoff pipe properly sealed

That engine bay was virtually immaculate when I went to get it. I remember opening the bonnet and thinking holey moley..

Err yes and no....Not a permanent laquer like ive seen over the years..the one that tends to yellow over time. I use a silicone spray or brush on liquid silicone, which some people refer to as laquer. Ive found over the years that it keeps all rubber components lubricated and resistant to cracking and aging...that's the main reason...plus it looks cleaner and newerdjg wrote:Vince, do you use lacquer to finish it off?

Opinions are always divided though on engine bays....some people like them looking clean and new, others like them "natural"
