I wouldn't worry about that, it's just a grade of hydraulic oil. There are enough cars worldwide to ensure production continues.

Re: CitroJim's 2.0TCT SEi Auto
I believe they do and Rolls Royce must as well.
I've heard rumours that the orange LDS as used in the C5 might be OK too albeit a tad pricey...
I think it'll be a very long time before LHM becomes hard to obtain and even if Total stop making it then I'm sure one of the classic oil people will start brewing it - after all, they still make straight mineral engine oil and 20W/50 for the older tackle...

Not on mine Will... The rubber ball was so happy to remain in place the outer of the cable began to un-spiral! No way in which it was going to come outDieselman wrote:You can do the speedo cable sans glovebox removal, just pull it into the engine bay and then using string pull the new one back through to the speedo head.

Come to think of it Dean, that's exactly what I saw years ago on my old Sinker Xantia. It would stay up for ages for a few days after an LHM change and then back to normal rates of sink!!!Dean wrote:she will be back to sinking as per the usual once the air is all out and the system settles down in a week or so.

You have to pull the cable sheath into the engine bay to remove the ball as it is held on by crimps.CitroJim wrote: Not on mine Will... The rubber ball was so happy to remain in place the outer of the cable began to un-spiral! No way in which it was going to come outWe had to resort to 'methods'

I did Will. Pulled so hard on the outer sheath it unspiralledDieselman wrote:You have to pull the cable sheath into the engine bay to remove the ball as it is held on by crimps.CitroJim wrote: Not on mine Will... It was so unspiralled it could then be pulled out from the glowvbox hole easily, leaving the ball in place. Then from the glovebox hole again the ball was pushed out on the end of a long steel drift...

Re: CitroJim's 2.0TCT SEi Auto
Well, I went to Somerset in the mobility scooter yesterday... Absolutely excellent
Went on LPG all the way and find I can get from here to dad's on one tankful and the route is positively littered with LPG stations
I have to say, the ride, comfort and ventilation offered by the XM absolutely knocks spots off of any Xantia. It really is that good. Not as quick as the V6 but oh, so much more relaxed and comfy. I was rather surprised by just how.
Perhaps it's just me and how I am at the moment but never have I done that trip in so much comfort and been so relaxed and fresh at the end.
LPG range is about 175 miles on a tankful and economy works out at around 25mpg equivalent. Price-wise that's 50mpg and I reckon once the cat and oxygen sensor is re-fitted it might even get better.
Now I have to do some serious thinking. The XM is the car for the long trips, no doubt at all. That trip proved it.
Due to circumstances both concerning money (insurance and having to insure Sian) and the likely loss of my spare parking space in the new year, one car will have to go. The XM is staying, the Activa is staying (drove it today
) so that leaves a question-mark hanging over the V6. Tax and insurance is up in November and I'm planning to SORN it.
If anyone wants to make me an offer for it I may consider letting it go. Money raised will be invested in the XM to really bring it up to condition. I have not made a final decision yet and it may well change in light what the up-coming MOT on the XM may reveal.
I think I may have cracked the ABS problem on the XM and I have every confidence the ABS block is not the cause of the problem. More news on that when I've investigated further.
For now, the XM is really making an impression on me.

Crumbs Jim, I didn't see you parting with the Xant V6.
You have my full attention! I love the colour on it although have only ever seen
photos having not made it to a rally to see it with you! What's the spec on it again
- it has the winter kit of goodies but has it got a sunroof?

Re: CitroJim's 2.0TCT SEi Auto
Needs must Andrew and one will need to go out of use/sold. I shall miss the V6 but it's the one I can most bring myself to sale and very reluctantly but needs must unfortunately.
Yes, all but no sunroof and no trafficmaster being an early S2. Sunroof is all that's missing... So, no interest to you!!!andmcit wrote: - it has the winter kit of goodies but has it got a sunroof?
