Hi all,
Have you tried linseed oil i used to use it on the clutches on gaming m/c's in the 60's to free them up

Careful with linseed oil - it goes thick and claggy (varnishy) when left exposed to air. (Old-type 3-in-1 DIY oil used to do the same, eventually causing light-weight parts to seize up!)

I know many people have used it on black bumper trims with great sucess, but they use a certian type. You have to be careful of the rags you use and how you store them as they like to spontaneously combust too. :?

A little goes along way Vince, and you need to buff it off to get rid of any excess. it will run in the rain otherwise. but works a treat and is cheap. Vaseline I use on the window trims.
I also found smooth peanut butter is good too..... particularly on the wing mirror trims.
