Known as the 'Spaceship' and running on LPG...
Here she is in all her glory: Picture shamelessly nicked from her previous owner

He's a good photographer and I'm not...
A few jobs needed to bring her up to my satisfaction but not much.
Her current faults are a suspect blowing exhaust manifold gasket, a (possibly) weak accumulator and what started as intermittent ABS has now become pretty much permanent. Her speedo does not work due to a duff upper cable.
The first jobs are to sort the ABS, do a gearbox oil change and filter clean and have the accumulator off for a check. That's all planned to be done before CXM.
And then to look at the exhaust leak, the speedo and then a new cambelt and then a bit of attention to some rustproofing to make sure she remains unattractive to the tinworms...
I'll keep this up to date with progress...

It's only 100 cc short.

But it does run on gas and that makes it nearly as good as a 2.1TD. Only nearly as good though...

It's been a good day on Spaceship 'Heart of Gold' and much effort has been directed at her infinite improbability drive, otherwise known as the ABS. There's an infinite improbability it might just work one day
Read all about it
here
One small thing that concerned me was a bit of a delay when the brakes went on. I bled them all today and although things are much better, to my mind they're still not quite as I'd like them. I also discovered the LHM is a bit brown so that'll be changed after I buy up some stock at CXM next weekend.
I'm fairly sure the main accumulator is a bit weak and want to check it. It's basically almost inaccessible though. Looks like it'll be easiest to wait until I have the nosecone off to get at the ABS Valve block. I can then kill three birds with one stone as it were and change the gearbox fluid at the same time. Must remember to use DEX2 and not the expensive Xantia stuff, the LT71141..
Still, went for a spin in her today and she drive a real treat. i went looking for some really rough old roads I know and she just sails over the lot
I have definitely determined she's catless... No worries there as long as she's always MOT'd on gas...

Catless is best! My 2.0 8V sans cat was quite the flyer. I had a TCT Prestige like yours Jim, but can't remember if it was catless or not. It always felt slow, as a TCT XM Manual was my benchinmark for TCT XM performance and the Auto was woefully slow in comparison.

Mine doesn't Robert. In fact I'd say she was quite lively really, all things considered. You know what my benchmarks are
All I know is that at her age she should have a cat really...
