The Millennium Torotoise

Otherwise known as a 1991 2.0 Si automatic estate.

Ownership assumed 22nd June 2013.

Her voyages, trials and tribulations will be documented here.

On the maiden trip from Stroud to Birmingham, a steering vibration at around 70 mph was the only major concern. We paused on the outskirts of Kings Norton for the front wheels to be balanced, which cured the vibration, but uncovered unusual wear on the front brake discs, due to be rectified in due course.

She has now covered approximately 200 miles and I have a small list of issues to address.

However, we both have work to do, so many of those things will have to wait until there is time.

Unexpected damage to the Turquoise Torpedo means that the Millennium Tortoise will be pressed into commuting duties this week.

Once you get all things sorted, XM's are great cars!

I find that a green-blooded Citroen likes to keep you on your toes and just when you think it's all sorted, it magically makes a whole new challenge for you to ponder over. I have three Citroens - so I can sometimes have one that works!

The brakes will be sorted on Monday, I'll get the garage to have a look around for anything else urgent or likely to need attention soon. They looked after my dad's XM, but that's 10 years ago now. If it behaves until I'm in Bedford, I'll hopefully have time to get a proper expert opinion from Chervronic.

I think your car has been looked over down at the Citroen specialist at Chalford - it'll no doubt be OK.
