Matthew's 2.5td Exclusive

So, continuing from the New Members' section, here shall follow all the news that's fit to print on my recently acquired 2.5td Exclusive, acquired on April 2nd with a shade under 55,000 miles. It's had one previous owner, a French businessman in London. I thus suspect it has done more than its fair share of urban journeys and not had as much chance to stretch its legs as it might have liked. I have taken it for some trips along fast A-roads and it's certainly rewarding to drive. My other car is a 1.1 C2 so the difference is torque is certainly marked!
An MOT was carried out when I bought it so that's all fine for a year. However, I can't help but wonder if a visit to a specialist might be sensible, particularly since the ride seems to be a bit firm and juddery at high speeds. It would give peace of mind if a specialist looked it over and be a good footing on which to begin ownership. It was maintained at a main dealer throughout its life with the last owner but was traded in over a year ago so hasn't had any specialist (or even Citroen garage!) attention in that time. Would such a visit be sensible at this stage?
It's got a few cosmetic things that need doing. At the moment the list is as follows:
Waxoyl or equivalent (advice welcomed please!)
Door/bumper trim
Alloys refurbished
Drivers' doorstrap (doesn't currently have one)
LH display is almost pixel-less
Three window regs needs replacing
It looks nice in the sunshine...

The upholstery is in reasonable shape:

I've wanted an XM since I was extremely young so I'm thrilled to finally have one. Will endeavour to keep it well maintained and will update as and when!
