I need to take the engine out to fix the exhaust manifolds. I also have a leaking steering rack and an gearbox linkage that falls off regularly. Unfortunately that is the ball on the gearbox and not the linkage I've plenty of spares of.

For the gearbox linkage, just go underneath with a welder and weld the pressed in ball back into the arm. A permenent fix in two minutes.

I was sorry to hear about the issues with your V6 and I am guessing that is Andy's old car? I had the same gear change linkage problem with my 2.0i turbo and I managed to find a replacement ball with a screw and nut fitting. With regards, Matthew T.
