This is a local car. I haven't seen it parked up outside before.
1995 2.0 TCT Manual. 122k, Half leather/Suede interior.
Couldn't really get any good pics due to its parked position right next to other cars.
The entire plastic side trim is missing from the NSR door.

Saw this one again this morning on the M77 southbound. First time I have seen an XM on a motorway close up. I was in my Saab so couldn't really beep or wave (the woman driving would definitely have thought I was a weirdo!).

Careful you don't try going off in the wrong XM one day Rohan!
Having one that close in the same colour it must be a risk...
If you try the key and it doesn't fit then you'll know it's the wrong one

My Father once came back to his GS estate and found someone doing exactly that. Their identical car was down the road.

There is a little story about one of the engineers at Lotus in the 60's, Mike Hawthorn I think it was. He owned a grey Austin A35 at the time. Anyway he needed to leave Hethal for some reason and took what he thought was his car. Only it turned out to be Hazel Chapmans identical A35. Apparently it was the boiled sweets in the glovebox that gave it away.
There used to be an identical Renault 21 like my Dads which tended to park in our street in the 90's. Confused the owners many a time...oddly couldn't even remember where they parked their own car mistaking ours for theirs.

Fear not gentlemen. The sizeable disparity in the opulence of the homes of the 2 respective XMs will preclude any possibility of an accidental "borrowing" taking place. With mine sadly being the poor relation!
I might like to deliberately borrow the TCT- it's a manual....maybe it'll come up for sale one day.

Happened to me - we was at a CCC East Mids event and these two were there:
Both Black with Black Leather Series 2 XM Exclusives...
So similar were they, in that I thought Geoff's car was ours and was looking for my camera kit in it and then realised after panicking that someone had nicked it... This happened when they weren't parked together though and people in the vicinity had a good laugh at me...
