M484 MDV - Reg XM TCT Exclusive at PoL in April

This is a little late but its the last XM I spotted on the road.

It was parked outside the Pride of Longbridge show back in April in Birmingham, looked like a good one.



My Xantia was parked just down the road.

Is this anyones on here?

This was the car Phil Chidlow brought back from Switzerland.

It is a very nice example and one of my favourite colours for the XM.
I had no idea that Phil had done that!

It seems a fair while ago, but yes I did drive it back - on about two days MOT I seem to remember lol! Glad to see the car's in good hands and been well cared for. I am driving a Rover 75 CDTi auto Connoisseur Tourer at the mo... And yet miss an XM so when the time comes I might go after the very best auto diesel XM I can find... but one thing worries me; I'll miss the performance. The Rover's had a remap and currently develops around 160bhp with maybe close on 290 lb/ft. I'd consider an XM 2.5 but it's only manual so I'm faced with one choice... 2.1 auto. Something tells me I'll be hankering after some more power before long...

Perhaps you can just adjust Phil!
I went from 250bhp/265 ft/lbs Petrol- to the 2.1 Auto XM. And....in my opinion it's about your driving and anticipation. You'll adapt and feel fine about it....

Unfortunately the auto box rather dampens the response of the 2.1, the manual is much livelier and more flexible it will drive most of the day without having to change gear.
