How to post my stripdown of doseur valve - Ciaran?
Hi there.
I've taken some pics of my stripdown and refit of my doseur valve. I'd like to post them but, how do I assemble an article with text then photo then text then photo etc. I want to compose it offline then paste it in somehow, not just type and hit the IMG button.
What image sizes would be best?
Cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
If you use the commands with the link to your photo when writing on word, it will work ok when you post.

Robert

Hi Robert. Sorry, don't really understand. Could you repeat in words of one syllable. Not sure what you mean by "commands with the link to your photo". It might be different because I use Open Office rather than Word. Can I just compose a letter with photos in it then cut and paste the whole thing? What about the photo size, 1024 pixels wide?
Cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Are you trying to write the article offline, include the picture links, and have it all in the proper format to post when you go back online?
Have you got a Photobucket account or anything like it, to host photos on?

Hi Andrew,
I see the problem, I hit the IMG button to show the IMG commands, but when I submitted my post, they had dissappeared.
[ img][ /img] they should have been there, but I have added a space in after the first brackets so that they stay in view.
As for the size of the pictures, I can't help there. I use photobucket, and at times it re-sizes the images nicely, at others it doesn't.

Andrew, you either need to attach the images to teh post and upload them tot eh club server, or use a 3rd party picture host such as photobucket.
If using Pb just add a link to the appropriate picture at the relevent point in your post. If you either chose the 'IMG' tag or surround your picture link by , that will automatically display the picture rather than the link.

Yes ciaran, that was the idea, so I don't have to do it all at the same time.

That makes sense.
Are you hosting the photos somewhere?

I wasn't going to, in case you want to make it sticky and I change my photo hosting in the future.
I've written it so I'll try putting the photos into the posting as I go. Please let me know if it takes up too much space or isn't right for some other reason. Cheers
