Hi to everyone. I’m Ben, and have purchased another XM after many years of previously owning 2. I love it! However, I’d not factored in the total lack of parts availability. I don’t need too many things, but here are a few if anyone could help? Gear selector/gear knob as all cracked off plastic (automatic). I wanted to see if I could repair the sunroof-motor makes noises, so think I might need cables? Headlights are shockingly worse than I recalled, and replacements or advice please? This is a 1994, pre-facelift Prestige 2.0 c.t. Automatic on an L registration. I’m very excited about having an XM again as I think they’re great

Hi Ben, I have a series 2 for parts, including a sunroof that works. However, except the lights, it is still in the car and I am not a handy man, so I hope you will be able to get it out. I am based in Alsager ST7 2HX. If of interest, contact me via a message perhaps.

Hi Ben, good to hear you are back in Xm ownership.
Gear selector, either remake your own, or there are 3d printed ones available , or leather covers from Q&K Citroen classics.

Try washing the headlamps out, you will be surprised how dusty they can be.

I've not managed to find a supplier of sunroof parts, these are a Webasto-Huliez sunroof. The drive mechanism for the sliders has probably seized which then leads to stripping the drive gear and possibly damaging the cables.
Unfortunately, servicing these sunroofs is a cassette out job.
You can remove the glass section, but it only gives access to the wind deflector, you cannot remove the cable guide covers, so can't properly lubricate them.
