Welcome to the club. I take it that your 2.1 is the non-turbo, they do exist then! I have never seen one in this country although you can buy parts for them here. You should get all the knowledge you need from here.

Some of the early Turbo D XM's had a badge on one side saying 2.1 D12, there used to be a silver one near my work..

The other side said Turbo D... on the front wings of course..

I have only ever seen one 2.1 non TD Hatchback/Saloon in this country, this 'Old Boy' came around in one to pick up some BX bit's many years ago before I was into XM's it was a light blue Metallic in colour, no Hydractive just nice and simple like a BX with small 3.5mm feed pipes going into the suspension top strut mounts (I'll bet they would hard to source good second-hand, it's bad enough trying to find decent ones for the Hydractive ones) IIRC it was on 'G' plate which would make that approx. 1989.
I can't remember if it had a sunroof though but I can remember that it had a Manual gearbox !

That must've been an import as neither non-hydractive or N/a diesel was an option supplied by Citroen UK. I remember the first time I saw a Non hydra car in France, I was rather surprised.

My XM is Turbo Diesel 2.1 d12 from 1992 and it was metalic silver GRIS SILEX ETW painted. Right now I changed the colour to black PERLA NERA METALIC, like the C6.

It will be great. It will be finished by the and of the week (I mean painting). Than I will do the interior. I bought a black leadher seats and the black leadher door interior kits. I need a help to get the old seats out. Can you help me with some picture manuals how to do that????????

OK, our diesels are usually badged '2.1td' hence the confusion. The 2.1td is the best model in my opinion.
