Used to be on Yahoo! list, but not used it in ages, as my XM was going OK.....

Still going OK, but the dreaded tin-worm has started to do it's worst, and it's getting some surgery at the moment.

It's a P-reg. 2.1TD VSX manual, with about 265,000 miles up.

I also used to have a Ser.2 2.0T Estate.....very nice car, but had to let it go due to lack of use / space.

Looking forward to contributing and reading the Forum.

Anyone else local on here ?

Slainte, Alan.

Hi Alan,

Welcome! :)

I am in Glasgow- I also don't have an XM yet but hopefully that situation won't last too much longer.
I think this is a great Forum- nice people and no heavy-handed moderation.

Glad to hear your TD is still going well.

Hello Alan

Welcome to the forum, well you certainly have the best car, a 2.1 manual :D I have been running them for over 15 years, yours is a fairly rare one to as the majority registered after Jan '96 were auto's, to much to expect that you have a Bosch pump though, I suspect its an EPIC - still half a good car is better than none ;)

Why not buy Captian Slows XM, you cant go far wrong with that car considering the history, and the low miles on it!

I got my car from the XM Centre in Oxford @ 85,000 miles....Paul said that was it just run-in !

I was originally after a 2.5, but they were all too expensive for me, or too far away, or both..... Mind you, from what
I now know, I reckon a manual 2.1TD must be one of the best cars indeed.

And yes, it has Lucas Epic. it's cut-out a couple times on me (ooh-err !), and also runs-on after the key is turned off
for about a second or two. When I took it to my local Lucas diesel specialist, he took one look at the pump and went;
"ohh......"

The folks I used to know up this way were Gordon Pierce and "dj"

Looks to be a fantastic S1- but I have now made definite XM plans! :)

That will be the shut off plunger. Cheap part but a full pump strip.

Welcome to the forum Alan, nice to have another new face :)

Tell me, did you use to sign your posts on XM-L as Wendham Scot or similar, quite a few years ago now?
