Hello, I'm new to your forum, but i've had XM's for several years, i think they are great, but unfortunately my wife doesn't, which brings me to the point of this message. I've just retired, and have to get rid of my current XM, MK1 which is 2.0ltr petrol, MOT till October. I've not driven it for a while, theres a noise coming from the cam belt, which concerns me a bit. Have intended to investigate, but i'm old and am waiting for warmer weather. I need it to go to a good home, so if anyone would like to offer a reasonable price, i'll let it go. I live in Leicester, e-mail richardhickson363@hotmail.com for mor info etc

I just wondered if that is the 'L' reg. dark grey car recently spotted by Will, who is also in Leicester and might be interested! Best of luck with the sale. Regards, Matthew T.

I wonder too, there can't be many more in Leicester.

I went to see someone today to collect some parts and he said he saw an R reg one at Fosse Park, yesterday. I asked if it was metallic green and he thought so. That sounds like James (Turbo-Imp).

Hi and welcome to the forum Richard, I see that you have your XM now listed on E-bay !

However I would amend the listing to the correct year of registration as it comes back as 1994 via the DVLA website
(As you've listed it as 1986)
DVLA Vehicle enquiry wrote: The vehicle details for L187 SKV are:
Date of Liability 01 05 2013
Date of First Registration 31 01 1994
Year of Manufacture 1994
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1998cc
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type PETROL
Export Marker N
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour GREY
Vehicle Type Approval Not Available
Vehicle Excise Duty rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £121.00
12 Months Rate £220.00
Richard,
Also a photo of both front suspension 'Strut tops' to show potential buyers of there condition goes a long way to help a sale and hopefully a better price being achieved too ;)

Hopefully you'll get a reasonable price for it especially with it having the 'Etoile' alloys wheels on it 8-)

Dieselman wrote:I think I spotted this car again today under 2 miles from the first sighting. It's a 2.0i-turbo, L187 SKV. Minor damage to the front and rear n/s corners, otherwise ok under the significant grime. It appears to be Grey, not Cobalt.

In some photos and light, it looks like my colour...ETC, OR anthracite / Basalt. But in others it looks darker and greyer.

I think it is indeed our colour Russ and that was a popular one at the time! Regards, Matthew T.

When I saw it in the flesh it appeared grey, not green/grey.

This is what has thrown me...in the photos, the door jams have a green grey tone. Just like mine. But on the photo above, it is clearly a darker grey. Another grey mystery!

It looks like the scrap man will win this on ebay. I offered to buy it for sensible money but no response, but it finishes tomorrow and a scrap man is highest bidder at present.
