Hi everyone, Good to see that there is such a following for xm, s. Currently without any Citroen’s , however looking for a project currently. Have owned many bx and xantias over the years and looking to get back into it. I served my apprenticeship with Citroen in the mid nineties and went on working for various other Citroen dealers and specialists over the next 15 years, currently work for a Bosch independent garage.
Over the years have worked on most variants of Citroen’s , really miss working on the cars I served my time on mostly cx, bx , xm and xantias with a few ds and sm .
As you guys all know (or will learn ) once these cars get into your system they never go away .
My full time occupation and hobby is electrical fault finding and repair as it was since I served my time , over the years I have been collecting up the dealer tools that I used to use sorting out all those broken xms in the hope of getting myself a nice project to sort out all it’s on going problems .
Especially fond of the mk1 v6 cars , as I did lots of work of them and really love the mk1 dash layout.
I’m based in Aberdeenshire and would love to lend a hand to anyone requiring assistance. The last old Citroen that I used to look after (70 ds) has since changed ownership and no longer in the area . Getting withdrawals from not being elbow deep in lhm .
Look forward to reading all about your xm issues and hope to be joining you with ownership in the near future.
Andy.

Re: New member.
You're coming to the party a bit late for S1- V6, they've nearly all either gone, or been snapped up.
Series 1 Xm are now more rare, in the Uk, than Sm.
Good luck with your search.
Once you have your Xm, you wont be so much elbow deep, it'll be more like snorkelling.

Don't necessarily write off the S2's. A few rather nice ones for sale recently, including a couple of 2.5's.

The other day, this one appeared online:andy1 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2020 11:07 amHi everyone, Good to see that there is such a following for xm, s. (Look what I just found on Wallapop!
Citroen XM 1990

Series 1 and a V6. There's yet another S2 V6, with an electrical fault and a bit cheaper. Due to the lack of parts converting it to RHD is not doable (maybe?), but anyway I let you know about them.
Glad to see more people appreciate this amazing cars! Welcome to the club!

Re: New member.
For a rust free Xm, a Lhd from Southern parts of Europe is your best option.
If Lhd is ok for you, that's fine, as converting one to Rhd is a mammoth task, due to the firewall and scuttle panel being the only handed panel on the whole car.

I'm guessing that some of the vendors have a vivid imagination when it comes to what their pride and joy is actually worth?
