Re: Diesel Pump
Your '93 car uses the same Bosch VE pump as the '92 does and you can remove the control section of the pump and should be able to do that in situ.
Before starting this job, ensure the pump and working area are very clean. Diesel pumps don't like dirt inside them.
Remove the air ducting and upper intake manifold, the accelerator and cold start cables, then you should be able to gain access to the Allen headed cap screws.
You need to remove the accelerator arm, so mark its position relative to the spindle.
Remove the return spring.
When lifting the cover, the accelerator spindle needs to be pushed down as it is connected to the metering lever inside the pump.
The cold start lever is also connected internally by a spring so be careful to unhook that also.
The boost aneroid and maximum fuelling screw are not directly connected to the pump internals, so can just be lifted away with the unit.
You will need a new rubber gasket and should replace the accelerator spindle O ring while it is apart.
Gasket is #92 on the attached diagram. Available in nitrile or PTFE compounds.

Re: Diesel Pump
If belts are recent.. then leave them you can take xud pumps off leaving the pully and belt in place. Securing the pump pulley with two m8 bolts.. take the pump pulley nut off the end and the 4x 13mm nuts plus feed and supply pipes and pump cones off the cradle.. no need to disturb the belt. Engine nerds to be tdc before pump bolts go in...
