Wanted: Gearbox oil cooler S1 2.0i / 4HP18

Noticed a drop of coolant on the oil cooler today and discovered one of the spigots has corroded right through.

Anyone got a half decent spare lying around? Is it common to other models? I had a quick look and couldn't find much info on them.

Hi Jon,

The Citroen pt.no. for that is 2275 40, but NFP (and not appearing on Pieces de Rechange).
Was fitted to HP18 on XM I, XMII and Xsara.

The ZF part number on the label in the photo does turn up a few on the web, though.
Google "ZF part number 0501207662" and hit Images, where a few eBay and others will show up.

If stuck, just jump the two water hoses together, as a temporary measure.

Would presumably have been the same part on the Pug 605? Not sure if any other Pugs used the 4HP18...

These differ from the engine oil coolers, which have 'through flow' to and from the attached oil filter.
Designs of the gearbox cooler also differ, mainly in respect of the angles that the coolant pipes are placed. This one has a pair of perpendicular straight ones, although you may be able to re-angle the hoses.

Thanks gents, some helpful pointers there. Done a bit more digging and it looks like the ZF 4hp-14 used the same part. This unit was fitted to several PSA models and a few others from that era.

I have one on a box I took out that stopped going forward jon.. Hp18 too. I'm going to its location today and cN get it off for you if your not sorted..

Retirived but sadly looks like it's going the same way as yours..

Thanks for looking, I might have to try that one if I get desperate...

OK I nearly binned it but then thought actually.. Clean the remains up.. Coat the outside.. Then some of that putty metal I forget the name and repair it. Its amazing stuff I used it on a xantia hdi that blew a hole in a core plug.. Mixed some up stick it over the hole and it never leaked again.. I forget whag it is now easimetal or something.

Edit.. I remember now.. Quicksteel.. I swear by it..
