These Mk 2 ones have the front glass glued to frame making recovery very difficult.
There are two versions, the cut down one has the fog lamp section left empty.
The damage to the fog lamp silvering is very common.
The fog lamp reflector also tends to drop off its adjuster mounts with no way into the unit to refit it.
My experience is that recovered ones need careful checking for condition as very few are worth buying.

Ouch! That sounds like the ones I bought! I just assumed that they would be constructed like headlights, allowing me to use the lenses if mine get damaged...

Shake them. If they rattle then the fog lamp reflector is loose.
Look in the front and you can see any brown area where the halogen bulb has burnt the silver off the reflector
A few years ago I agreed to send a friend a replacement glass to fix his broken light.
Had to cut the plastic case away in bits to recover the glass.
Decided not to part with any more as the problems make them a rare item.

As made the upper and lower surfaces of the reflector are brown, due to no silvering.
Only the curved bowls are reflective to control the light output.

I have checked and on Mk 2 fog lights they are fully silvered.
Any browning on the reflector is damaged silvering and not by design.
