That could be because of lack of altinator belt to charge battery up. If the battery V are low it could affect it as the lucas setup uses more battery power then older mechical setups..

Battery fully charged....starts the car easy. The hunting developed after about 4 mins......but a "tiny" amount of throttle (by hand on the pulley in the engine bay) made it rev fine....maybe it needs a small adjustment to the throttle cable ?

Don't alter anything, the throttle cable doesn't set the idle, that is Ecu controlled.

Build it up fully and see how it runs then.

Jim E'st has just said the same thing, ? due to no load on the engine.

Moving on......Two bits left over. (why does that always happen ?).....a HobNob to the winner, what are these two brackets and where do they go ?

Jim did....he even came up with what seems another logical possibility as to why (other than low voltage from a battery at the pump, which is still a possibility).....all I wondered is Why ?

All I can think of (apart from physical engine loading) is that the system is expecting to be operating at 14.4v, and not 12-or-less.
An undetected voltage drop somewhere could aggravate things.
Re-attach belt, and try again.
Say hello to Jim for me!

Car electrics on the xm dont kick in untill the altinator is detected running and charging. Do things mainly like the blower dont kick in until the engine has ran for a moment..

That's right, Paul! The whole "engine running" system (there's an engine-running relay) is dependent on alternator output!
Keep taking the Weetabix, Paul. ;)
