Re: The daddy mk2 24v
I honestly can't believe a thirsty old XM with 100,000 miles on the clock and nothing even to back that figure up is getting past £2K. Madness.

Re: The daddy mk2 24v
Fair point. Difficult to gauge a value considering they rarely appear for sale. Mr Hallworth's DIDN'T fetch a similar value
a short while back although IIRC there were lpg issues and a missmatched colour door on an otherwise appealing car
- I would say that, I like big engined (thirsty petrol) big Citroens and the clever autobox/v6 combo is superb in my Xantia.
The +/- values things are going for on ebay at the moment don't make a whole lot of sense on a good day but lately I've seen
some weird extremes and madness about sums it up well really; best of luck with the sale of your 16v TE!!
I'm not bidding for ANYTHING btw!!

Xms are more to some of use than just an old thirsty car, many use them for pleasure purposes and dont mind pouring money into them.
Xms are generally bargains, so long as they are not riddled with faults. Just take the 2.0Turbo Exclusive on autotrader at the moment, £590 for what looks like a very smart car, interior looks in great condition.
That V6 is certainly a car which would have needed a good viewing before bidding on though.
Not a bad price in the end, I wonder who got it?

I think it's just that £2K+ seems a more appropriate ballpark for a good condition, low mileage diesel rather than a thirsty bastard showing an above average mileage that nobody can corroborate.
But as we know, when it comes to cars there is no making sense of things

Very true!
Although diesel models can go for a lot more. Did you see the silver W reg 2.1 auto WHM was selling for £5K was it? Its now sold and i saw it at Weatherby last month, just shows what they are worth to some people.

I paid £150.00 for my last 2.1 estate and £250 for the hatch, yes they needed a bit of work, but try buying one that doesn't, they are both MOT'd now. I would have had a go at that silver estate 'up north' but it went for £275.00 which is out of my comfort zone.

At £2200+ I hope the new owner is happy with it - way overpriced in my book but love is blind! I am nearer Peter's sort of money - and I have one lined up! Yippee!

Re: The daddy mk2 24v
I'll say one thing in defence of the big thirsty v6 and autoapative gearbox; it's bloody brilliant!
I'm finding myself visiting the petrol pump MORE in the Xm 2.0 TCT and the Xantia TD than I do
with the Xantia fitted with the engine in weekly to/fro use - in fact, I'd use it ALL the time if it
wasn't for the fact that it's only covered 56k miles and I don't want to hammer it into the ground
as a daily hack as it's FAR too good for that.
A real eye opener for me with a car showing well below half the presumed mileage of the Xm
= the Xantia was bought for a very significant amount less than the £2200 this ebay v6 sold for!!
OK, so a Xantia is a Xantia and NOT an Xm but I'd highly recommend a V6 pocket rocket in disguise
to complement an Xm!!!

I've heard at least three people tell me that the Xantia V6 is the best sports car Citroen never marketed properly
