Re: CCC CX, XM and Xantia Rally 2011.
I would prefer the long route as I always think the short convoy trips area bit, well...short.
Meandering though towns and villages can be fun though as it lets the locals see the cars en-mass.

There's the usual Travellodgy type things and corporate hotels in Milton Keynes Simon, or else, try Buckingham for a nice billet or Winslow, a small town to the south. Depends what you want really.simonxm21 wrote:if i wanted to stay over, where the best place to stay? (havent got a tent) as i could come saturday afternoon then stay over and get a good start sunday morning!
The South of Milton Keynes is within easy reach of the site and so is Stony Stratford via scenic back-roads. There they have the Cock Hotel and the Bull Hotel - the origination of the term "Cock and Bull Story". Legend has it that one would tell a tall tale in the Cock and then wander down to the Bull and repeat it...
The general consensus seems for the longer rote Will so Robyn and I will concentrate on that one. I can offer both routes if wanted but the long one is a good suspension tester - I found a really sharp little hump back bridge on the route this afternoon...

I'd go for the short route personally. Last years was nice and short!
But I usually blag a lift with someone in a car I have never been in. So if someone has a really interesting car, and wants an "interesting" passenger, put your names forward now

Re: CCC CX, XM and Xantia Rally 2011.
Must have been a very slow car you were in Simon
That's the Convoy Drive now written up in its first draft ready for a road test by Robyn tomorrow evening and no doubt lots of corrections. I must make certain all my lefts and rights are right and the signs say what I believe they say...
I've changed it slightly after some valuable feedback on here by offering a slightly shortened outward leg to the destination and a slightly longer short inward leg back to Little Horwood.
I've even got a couple of miles of fast dual-carriageway into the convoy route...
The route guide also includes some words on some points of interest you'll pass along the way. Possibly the points of interest will be unique to this guide and described nowhere else...
