Feb 1992 Citroen UK offered XM's in only two Blues.
Memphis Blue which is a metallic blue.
The other Blue was Sapphire, a solid colour, which looks just a few shades darker.
The book says V6's were only available in Memphis.
Has no one bought it yet!!!!

I have the same brochure as John and on reflection the darker shade of Sapphire Blue looks closer to the photos. Although I am not sure about Sapphire the paint code for Memphis is EMQ. I thought Sapphire as well, part wrote a reply to that effect, then noticed a little detail about options.
Have a look at the opposite page to the colour samples.
Lots of NA dashes under the V6 headings.
You will see that V6 cars were only available in 6 of the 15 colours while V6 estates only in 8 colours.
That year V6 cars came in Black, Memphis Blue, Platinum, Mercury, Mandrin Red and Emerald.
V6 estates were available in Alpine White, Morrello, Sapphire Blue, Memphis Blue, Silver, Platinum, Mercury and Triton.
It is just possible that this car was factory built to a purchasers special requirements including non standard body colour.
For the 1990 model year there were only 12 colours ( not all included in the 15 above) but V6's were available in all 12 of them.
Notable differences for the early cars were Delage Red, Champagne, Onyx, Pearl Grey and no Greens.
Notable inclusion in the 1992 list of colours was Ice Blue ( not used on V6's ). Never seen an XM that colour.

Still on the look out for 1990 and 1991 published XM brochures to complete the collection.

Cannot find a mention of Cobalt in any of the Mk1 big brochures, checked English (4), Dutch and French.

Might be worth swapping a list of brochures held so we can produce a collated list of cars and features available.
It might just pinpoint the odd rare non standard show/publicity car and any customers special order car.
Would be a pity if something really rare gets missed.

I have a 1990 brochure here John. Picked it up for a fiver at the NEC. It's more a book than a brochure and something quite remarkable...

Anyway, the colour swatch for Memphis Blue in the brochure certainly matches the car - it's a very dark blue/purple...

For 1990 that's the only blue mentioned...

Andrew, you know Mauritius Blue surely - the colour of my V6 and the colour of Chris570's late S2 XM ES9 V6...

Mauritius (KPK) is a few shades lighter than Memphis and does not have the purple hue to such an extent

Hello guys,

This is just to let you know that, as nobody seems interested in buying my XM Sei V6 Auto, she is gonna have to suffer a fate that she does not deserve. i.e. Sold to someone who neither loves nor understands her.

I simply no longer have the space and time, (I sound like DR. Who), to look after her.

Therefore, she has got to go.

As I have stated, all I want is a reasonable price, and a good home for her.

So, please, someone speak up within the next few days, or lose a chance of a bargain.
