Xantia Mk2 Automatic Windscreen Wiper Kit F/S
When I scrapped my Xantia, I removed the automatic wiping sensor and wiring so that I could possibly fit it to a BX - so I removed it as a stand alone kit if you like.
I won't fit it to my BX now so it is up for grabs.
The wiring will need to be spliced in to the relevant wires in your Xantia so it's not a straight forward plug and play but for those who are electrically minded I don't think it would be too difficult.
You'll need part # 6405E1 which are the metal brackets used to secure the sensor to the windscreen. These are £12 from Citroen.
£20 ono
located at CF38 or can post at cost

I'd like to know how to install this, not easy I would think.

No, but possibly the best thing about an S2 Xantia though... The sensor has to very, very close to the windscreen for it to work effectively...
I can dig out the wiring diagram for it as it relates to a Xantia Jaap

Yes Jim, that would be much appreciated! I love that rain wiper and for 10 years of use, it's hard to do without one and I don't understand why they are still not readily available on all sorts of modern crap..

I'll go and dig out, fire up the scanner and post up Jaap. I agree on how exceedingly useful they are.

Re: Xantia Mk2 Automatic Windscreen Wiper Kit F/S
Icidentally, the "Park" or Single sweep on the Auto Wipers cars DO NOT work if the window sensor plays up...
I found this out on an SX when the wipers stopped. They wouldn't sweep when washing etc, only when the speed 1 or 2 was selected. I found that after I unplugged the sensor and re connected it normal service was resumed...
Just thought Id add that ... useless or usefull or not..

I've not looked at it for a bit but from memory, there is a soft gel like plastic (similar in texture to jelly before you add the water) over the sensor that is squashed against the glass. The metal clips hold the whole thing on to the glass firmly.CitroJim wrote:No, but possibly the best thing about an S2 Xantia though... I know where it is, so I'll dig it out tomorrow. We should be able to 'marry up' the wires against Jim's wiring diagram

Thanks Jim, I'll have to study it later.

Re: Xantia Mk2 Automatic Windscreen Wiper Kit F/S

That is the sensor itself. There are two of the sticky gel type pads I mentioned. The unit is spring loaded inside the housing, so once it is attached to the clips (you can see one in the photo) the springs apply the pressure to keep the pads against the wind screen. I think it'll take a bit of fiddling to get the air out between the glass and pad but it is possible - I tried it against a window.

The black connector block is actually the two relays in Jim's jpg (5002 and 5003)
The yellow connector block connects to the windscreen wiper control switch/stalk
The grey connector connects to another small loom. This divides into two. The pink wires run to yet another connector block (but these are nothing to do with the auto windscreen system) and the other few wires which I had to cut will need to be spliced in; I guess the question is spliced into what/where. I suspect that the cut wires are in fact standard as a non auto windscreen wiper system will still need to send the same signals to the wipers - all the auto stuff is done between the switch and the rain sensor
hope that helps.
Please let me know if you are interested Captainhaddock as otherwise I'll put on ebay........
