I forgot to mention I've also owned Alfasuds (x2) and my Dad spent time in the Eighties with his Phase 1 BXs (x2) so the influence started there
Gamma was a flat-four, developed from Flavia range. The Beta gearbox is a Citroen cast-off. It's such a shame the Aerodinamica wasn't taken seriously - it even had BMC lettering on the nose. There was nothing fundamentally wrong with the 1800 or Maxi engineering (the build and durability of my early 1750 Maxi impresses anyone who sees and drives it) but the styling was dictated by the engineering dept rather than designers' pens. And 'Friday cars' abound.

Aerodinamica predates any wind tunnel available for use by Turin-based design houses. And for that, I adore it. But where did BMC put it? It was last seen delivered to Birmingham 45 years ago. What on earth did they do with it?

Ha that proves my point...the Aerodinamica did influence all those fast backs. It is a brilliant design. Cannot believe BMC didn't use it. Typical. And your totally right Gallic Oddity, about the engineers dictating the designs. Brilliant they were, they would not make these designs work.
So I wonder where it ended up. It was clear

It appears you have cut the bumper trim off to fit the tow-bar. Why?
Your XM looks great in Mauritius blue. Blue always works on Citroens.

I quite agree blue works.. Over time I've had four Citroens in Mauritius Blue and still have one to this day...
All the best with the sale - an Exclusive is a nice one to have. Essentially my car minus the V6 engine...

The bridge is near me. It is Bridego Bridge, aka Bridge 127. £2.6 Million fell off that bridge. The Fiat is solid and great fun. It has done just 55k in 30 years. DVLA says more of these survive in the UK than XMs!
