About all I have been doing, that is in any way car related, is giving further thought to the "what shall I get next" dilemma - no the XM isn't in danger - it is all to do with having nearly 5k tied up in a three year old Hyundai that seems to get most of its driving done by folks about the same age as the XM. I had another one of my long and convoluted conversations with Admiral on Friday and discovered that it is actually cheaper by £75 to insure the kids on the Boss's Multipla! Unfortunately, she is not really keen on this idea as she thinks it will be too big for them to be comfortable driving as none of them have much experience.
As a consequence, if the i10 goes as I want it to, I shall need to replace it with something else cheap to run and insure. Plan a) has involved looking at various C4s that tick all the boxes but cost about £2.5 to £3k. Having said that, a Megane Fidji Coupe 1.4 has come up for sale very locally to me and so I am going to have a look at that.
It is likely to cost me about £800 which is quite manageable and would leave me plenty for XM improvements or the purchase of something else a lot more interesting
I still think just keeping the Multipla for everyone else while I tool about in a BX16v/GTI or a ZX Volcane or something similar is the way to go... Trouble is, I only want a really good one and there don't seem to be many or any about that fit the bill at the moment. Rob
