radio/stereo

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Everybody

As my original Clarion radio cassette is not repairable, I am trying to find a replacement in good working condition (with code)

Hi Brian,

If you can find one of these again, it is pretty easy to reset the code on them. I did it to mine. There are some solder jumpers that need removed from the circuit board and it will reset the code to a default 1110 or such like.

So don't panic if you can't find one with a code.

Is this what you are looking for:

My XM has a Sony unit with a CD changer in the boot. No code needed. Why would you?

Edit:
Sorry. This ebay unit has no cassette player!

Hello Jan

Thank you for your reply, I really would like to keep the car original (apparentley the defective component would need to come from Japan but may not be available

The Sony unit has a cassette player, but I hardly ever use it. I record music onto CD or I buy (legal) CDs :D

I understand and respect that. For my model different options were offered at the time. Not sure about your S1. If you know exactly what component you need I could ask around here.

Hi Brian,
It seems to be quite a common problem with that earlier Clarion radio model unfortunately and what a shame that repair is not possible.
