WANTED various bits

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

If it's leaking I suspect the glass to frame bonding has failed. An easy job to do.

ah yes, but I'd rather fix at leisure and replace when dry! Although I now finally have a proper workshop, I need a dry spot for a roofless XM until I sort the fitted sunroof out.

I left mine outside in the snow while I sorted the metal frame.
I just put a piece of plywood under the glass and taped it in with gaffer tape.

ah, but it's a new to me car with a sealed roof - it could be any one of a number of things from dead microswitch to dead motor or leak!

Both later cars I bought had jammed sunroofs, both sorted in short order by winding the motor gear while operating the roof.

I wouldn't be looking to change a sunroof without first investigating the fault. Sealant says a leak, but if it's the drain tubes it will still be present after the change unless you fit new ones.

it doesn't work now - but then again I'm not sure it had the bad lacquer peel on the roof when you had it either.

She's a sound old bus and will come up with a little work - sadly, nowhere near as nice bodily as the one that is being replaced.

I did think she was a little slow but then I moved the floor mat that impeded the loud pedal from going to the floor and she drives much nicer now - less smoky than my other diesel but not as refined, I'd say.

It'll be a test for my shiny new compressor and spray gun at some point.

Robert, what shade of blue is she - she isn't Mauritius blue.

Its Admiral Blue.

I don't remember any lacquer peel on that car, the other green S1 estate had some around the sunroof.

there's quite a lot on the roof now - and it will need a respray up there! Thanks for the colour, Robert.

On the quick look round, I need to sort the lips of the wheelarches at the back too.

I think she's a sound car that does need some tlc and I'm happy with her, and like all new toys there is some fettling needing done so that she is up to the standard I'd like.

Ohh dear, the wheel arches were rust free then too. Brian must have used it a lot the past 2 winters.
