The sensor in the light unit, cylindrical thing.... has a small fan in it. You can see the little blades. They get coated in fluff and dust, as I'm sure you have found out. I did exactly the same thing today too. I also squirted some WD40 in it too help it out!

There should be a small fan unit mounted above the light unit.

I realise I am quite possibly being dense, and I apologise for that, but this is what is sitting between the lights: and it's not cylindrical and doesn't seem to move.

Do I need to remove the housing to get in behind the little grill?

Edit: Sorry the picture went, it should be back now. I think it is probably a sensor for the alarm that was fitted by the dealer at point of sale.

Yeah that's it, drop the whole lot down. It sits in between the light contacts, above the round grill, and it simply pulls out. It's like a cylindrical tube thing with a fan built into it.

I think Beko has has just cleaned his today. So there are some good pics of the sensor.


Green block. No idea. Your photo doesn't appear to work.

Ah...the green thing might be the remote locking receiver. I don't have one so not sure what it looks like!!!

You will find your remote receiver in the dash under the glove box.
All UK Mk2's have a RF remote system.
