The timing belt and water pump kit arrived today and it looks like June will be the expensive month as I want that doing along with a couple of other bits for the MOT.
On another note I went out today to look at some cars to replace the Megane Coupe we have that I really don't like. I was fairly set on a C4, until I sat in one; I think I just don't like more modern cars in general. It all seemed very cramped because of the acres of plastic and I got little sense of where the corners of the car were. I didn't even bother taking it for a drive, more because it turned out to be a diesel with no service history for over 50k miles than for anything else. The only thing I sat in today that I really did like (apart from the XM obviously) was a brand new Multispace; now that did seem spacious and practical. It seems I have suddenly become old and boring. Anyway, it doesn't matter because one of those is way out of my price range. The previous generation might be a possibility, however, but they do lack the funky looks and their van origins are very obvious.
If you were at Wetherby, or are also on the BX Forum you may be aware of a very tasty BX TZD that is for sale in Leeds:

which is pretty local. Whilst it might come within budget, it is not within my budget for a 21 year old BX. I appreciate that values for good examples are rising, but that one seems to set the bar very high indeed. The other thing is that this purchase is likely to have multiple drivers, and I don't want to be worrying more about the car than its occupants.
I like Robert Smart's ZX
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C375165
but it is an auto and a manual is preferred by the younger users as that is all they have driven. Apart from one ZX 16v I considered that is excellent, there don't seem to be any good ones about. Maybe I shall have to try a Xsara...
Actually Robert's ZX does look peachy...
Ho hum
Hope you don't mind my ramblings - thinking in print really - just feeling a bit frustrated. I must develop more patience as there really is no rush.
