Salut, garçons et filles!

Post by edmundator » Sun Jun 16, 2013 4:44 pm

Comment allez-vous?

Picking up an XM estate next Saturday, needed a big car to help with moving house and wanted something that I could insure as a classic. My dad had an XM a while back, my first car was an AX followed by a Xantia, which I got so I could tow my 2CV racer around. I've had lots of other things since (mostly Volvos and VWs), but still have a lot of love for the older Citroëns.

I hope I won't be spending too much time in the technical areas of the forum!

Will provide pics when I've taken possession.

Is that the green one in Chalford. It looks a solid beast. Have seen it about locally a few times.

I have everything that will cross, crossed that it will survive a couple of months without any dramas. After that it is free to do whatever it likes as I will be cycling to work for my new job, so I will be happy to just look at it for a while as I pedal past. I am assured it drives reliably...

I was almost tempted to buy that car, but have too many projects on the go right now.

I still have the Haynes manual that I had to buy in the two weeks I drove my dad's series 2 XM estate.

and you bought another XM just to be able to reuse the book. That's not the kind of sensible recycling that you should be doing!

My first XM went to the scrapyard about six weeks after I bought it. I didn't even buy the manual then.
