Thanks for the offer anyway. I hope it goes to a good home, they are getting increasingly rare now. I was considering selling my Hatch - until Christine wrote the estate off, but I shall be hanging on to it for the foreseeable future.

There's this 1990 21td manual now on ebay but it's too far far away for me...And its state is rather obscure...on Gumtree he didn't mention anything re. the 5th gear sticking, but on ebay he does. So expect to discover more "details" that are not good on picking up the car...

Nope, we're talking about a 2.1TD estate here yet the leaky subframe car is a 2.5 VSX.
Seems a lot of estates have bad rear pipes.

Cheap enough mind...
