If it does it's not a problem because then you'll be very near me...

Are you moving to Bedford?

They just eat the miles (or kms) Jaap :D never known quite such a good car on a long journey as an XM. I did Home to Somerset and back on Saturday, nigh-on 400 miles, absolutely perfectly!

Excellent :D Welcome to this neck of the woods... It's not bad around here really...

The area is quite thick with Hydraulic Citroen enthusiasts which is good :D

I've seen at least one XM (green metallic hatch) at the BP garage on Newnham Rd in Bedford. I hope that I don't miss Birmingham too much (it is possible!), but looking forward to a new chapter.

Second trip to the petrol station today after collecting the car from the garage. Working on full tank back to full tank, I managed 447.5 miles on 74.85 litres, which I reckon to be around 27mpg for a mix of mostly motorway/town commuting and a bit of urban pottering. Does that seem reasonable?

Garage have fitted new pads and discs at the front, new pads at the rear and a new o/s front strut return hose - thanks to advice on here I was able to find out for the garage that Birmingham Citroën had the necessary part in stock.

Now for the work I bought it for to commence - completion of house sale is next Friday; better get the house empty!

27mpg is not bad at all... About par for the car I think..

She'll enjoy being put to work and all the best with the move...

While I was out and about, I got a flash of the lights from someone driving a face lifted original C5 estate - I presume it was recognition of the XM rather than something amiss. Always nice to have a bit of camaraderie.
