Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Late Silver V6-24V Ebay - Spares or Repair

Post by xmexclusive » Sun Jul 14, 2013 10:01 am

Just appeared on ebay starting at £300.
Ex WHM car with some odd MOT failure items.
Dangerous body work - looks to be smashed tailgate plastic panel.
Defective sidelights - wrong colour.
Surprised that so little goes unrepaired these days.
My MOT man has started to pick up on wrong colour lights.
Anything LED or HID is picked up as displaying a blue element and failed.
Think a new colour filter must have been added to the front lamp alignment test box.
He showed me a small collection of leds and blue headlamp bulbs that had been replaced to get cars passed.

:D :D the tailgate plastic trim is easy to replace. Its simply bolted on.. those of you who may have followed my sd 2.1 topic blog would see its easilly changeable..so disregard the 150 repair..

Headlight washers fail?? If the car is returned to standard headlights then this wont count. They only need to work for mot with zenon headlights so another simple fix car looks a steal with the correct knowledge to repair and the mechanical bits happen to be a non worry..

Go on will treat your self with a guzzler ... :D ;)

This is a win it on ebay.
Repair it on his drive in less than half an hour.
Then drive it to a pre booked MOT.

But then aren't. They're very frugal for a three litre V6..

This car has to be snapped up. Could be a very good buy and they are lovely things...

Depends how you compare them jim.. against a prv or tct no they are rather impressive for a V engine but compared to the early 2.1 td that will has then yes they are guzzlers! They wouldnt touch 55mpg..

Driving a 2.1 is slow enough, but having to drive deliberately slow to get that kind of mpg is dire! I'll stick with my diesel V6! 8-) 36-37mpg and thats not sparing the ponies!

Ahh now that’s where you are just so wrong Paul.. I've seen 55.1mpg on the trip computer...

So there! :D

So not so different from a petrol V6 on a trip then.. I see about 35mpg on my Somerset and back trip and although I drive with care I'm not slow...
