Great to see an XM estate doing what it was designed for - excellent!

After a few more loads today, this afternoon we went for an ice cream in glamourous surroundings.

Then we went to the tip.

After having lied to me about being too hot a few days ago, today the Tortoise got a bit hot an bothered and wet itself at the side of the road.

It is now at the garage and I am awaiting the bad news.

Definitely, I always "let on" to other classic Citroen drivers....sadly though I just don't see many around here though  Your estate looks great being an early model on the best wheel trims :P I am a huge fan of the wheel trim wearing early models :)

Fingers crossed your "incident" will be a cheap one ;)

Had a report back from the garage. No significant fault with the cooling system, they only had to add max 1 litre to get up to full again and no signs of any leaks. Hasn't overheated and cooling fan appears to to be working appropriately. They noticed the coolant level light flash on briefly on a test drive (which I've noticed before and assumed it is an electrical fault somewhere) - they suggested replacing the coolant level sensor to ensure that's not at fault.

They say radiator looks original, so if there are further problems, it might be worth replacing this and the thermostat in the absence of any other obvious fault.

Having talked to me, however, they are going to investigate the aircon system to see whether this is working properly and whether the extra heat from this could be causing overheating whilst pottering around town/sitting in traffic.

Well that's good news. I must admit I turn the Ac off when town driving.
