Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

1999 Citroen XM 2.1 TD Automative - MOT Fail - For Sale

Post by beta-inc » Thu Jul 18, 2013 4:06 pm

Hi,

well unfortunately due to failing the MOT primarily on rust to structural areas of the body I am putting up for sale my XM. It is a 2.1 TD Auto, it has 140000 on the clock. It is black and in reasonable condition for it year. If I had my welding equipment available I would be looking to take it off the road and complete the work myself.

I will sell for the best offer, however be aware that it will need collecting as it is parked off road for not having an MOT. It was a daily driver and only last august I took it to Spar for the GP without issue. I will be sorry to let it go.

Any questions please ask.

Regards. Mark.

Ok, ok. The obvious fact is that I forgot to put the location, I think it was the emotional disappointment at having to get rid of the vehicle. I live just outside Wetherby, which is 10/15 miles north of Leeds. The vehicle is still drivable as I drove it back from the mot station yesterday. It does presently have tax which runs out this month.

The details from the failure report are:

Reasons for refusal of a Test Certificate
001 Offside front (bumper) Body insecure and dangerous t o other
road users [6.1.B.lb]

002 Offside front Body has a sharp edge caused by damage
[6 . 1.C . l]

003 Offside front Front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged to
the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc
[2.S.C.la]

004 Nearside front lower Vehicle structure has excessive
corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the
body mountings [6.1.B.2]

005 Offside front lower Vehicle structure has excessive
corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the
body mountings [6.1 . B.2]

006 Nearside front (sill) Vehicle structure has excessive
corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the
body mountings [6.1.B.2]

007 (under bonnet) Electrical wiring damaged, likely to become detached [1.9.2b]
If this vehicle is left at the testing station for repair and is retested before the end of
10 working days, then only a partial retest is needed for which no fee may be charged.
If this vehicle is removed from the testing station for repair and returned for retest
within 10 working days, then only a partial retest is needed and a partial retest fee may
be charged.

The 007 is a usb charging connector which I left connected to the battery, should have removed this really and it will not be coming with the vehicle.

I will try and get some photos of the vehicle, any further queries just ask.

Thanks. Mark.
