Re: XM Mk 2. Drivers window regulator
Incase your other post is missed. Theres Two sorts fitted in 96 due to a change in operation.
You'll either have the earlyer Two Pin plug in which a S1 winder should do, or a later one with a large black control box on it.. which are a little bit more expensive and S2 onwards only..

Hi and welcome to the forum, Albeit you joined back in March 2011 (As I see you've you only made two posts, this one and one the other yesterday)apeaker wrote:Wanted - Window regulator for drivers door. 1996 car.

Without knowing your exact S2 model (Sx/VSX/Exclusive) and if your XM has not been messed with from leaving the factory ?
The SX models normally had the two pin plug with reverse polarity for Up/Down operation and the VSX/Exclusive had the 9 pin plug type fitted (One touch/Anti-pinch) fitted to them !
However please be aware that they are also two types of 9 pin plugs motor/regulators which have different end connectors (Which are NOT compatible ) early S2 models tended to have the S/S clip type plug feature and the later VSX/Exclusives had the Red 'Cam-lock' type plug connector !
If you read thro' THIS thread you should be able to decipher which type you have on your S2 model which is imperative to know, prior to sourcing a replacement !
If its the 9 pin type your after ? I have a spare of each type available !

An XM if for life, (Not just for Christmas) !
