I'm with Norman here. After the summer sun in Madrid & Toulouse, and their freezing winters my '95 Excl was relegated to second place in favour of the more comfortable velour, but then it's also an EPIC auto, WIN !WIN !WIN !

It is only the UK where we are leather snobs. The rest of Europe prefers material for comfort, leather s relegated to working cars.

I would keep the cars interior, what ever spec it is, standard. If for some reason leather upgrade was really desired, it would have to be the whole interior including carpets and headlining, not just seats and door cards.
Sitting in your mandarin car Will, your seats are far more comfy than my leather ones. All velour seats seem to be infact....well to me anyway!

I am not sure that is strictly true for the last 30 years at least Will, otherwise why did Citroen market top spec XM throughout Europe with leather as standard? The S1 24v could have beige leather or suede/cloth as an option and may be also the S2 cars. Regards, Matthew T.

Heated and cooled leather is available in some cars you know
i miss my heated leather and heated steering wheel but also miss my park heat as well

If the 2.5 engine bay had any spare room i'd look into retrofitting park heat but its just not possible to fit an FBH, pump, controller unit and the piping for them as well

On all S1 V6 XM with leather heated seats are standard and possibly also S2 top spec models as well. A heated leather steering wheel and cooled seats sounds rather interesting!! Regards, Matthew T.

If you look at cars for sale in France in particular, you will see leather isn't very often chosen. Most cars have deep pile velour or alcantara/suede.

I am sure you are correct Will that cloth seats have been a popular option abroad, especially in hotter areas, but less persuaded about leather being relegated to working cars, at least not during recent times. Regards, Matthew T.

I've seen some working cars with leather. They have all been discovery 3/4 vehicles though
I'll believe the leather is less sought after when I see an option for a range rover(not sport) to not have leather. Ps we are talking 2002=> vehicles
