I bought this car to help me move house this summer - it's done its job and unfortunately I don't have any off-road parking where I now live, so I just don't have anywhere to keep this car. I have covered around 2000 miles in it without any significant problems. If I could, I'd park it up for the odd occasions when I need a huge, practical and supremely comfortable car.
I've been commuting in this car every other week (22 miles each way) to make sure its keeps running ok and it hasn't let me down. It gets about 30mpg on a long run.
I needed the car to be reliable, so in the time I've had it, it hasn't been neglected.
I had the wheels rebalanced the day I bought it, which cured a vibration from the front at around 70 mph.
When this was done, it was noted that the front pads and discs were worn. These have been replaced, along with a breather pipe for the front suspension.
In the hot summer, I also had the sensor for the cooling fan replaced and the air-con checked and re-gassed.
There is a nice pile of receipts for work the car has had over its life. Most significantly was an engine recon in 2007 (16,000 miles ago) - cylinders honed, pistons vapour blasted, new rings, new big and small ends, head skimmed, new valve guides and cam bucket, new cam belt, fan belt, thermostat & gaskets.
The hydraulic systems work as they should and the car drives comfortably.
The interior is generally in very clean and tidy condition and is a pleasant place to make a long journey.
The Si model has the luxuries of aircon, electric windows and electric seats - all of which work.
Faults:
Sunroof motor operates but doesn't move the sunroof. It doesn't leak.
LCD clock doesn't work (probably just needs a new bulb). Dot-matrix warning panel works properly.
Gear position indicator has a pixel that intermittently fails (i.e. "P" often displays as "F").
Brake light bulb failure warning intermittently comes on when indicating (earthing fault at the rear lights - the brake lights work fine).
Radio-cassette occasionally turns itself on and off; cassette has recently stopped working but radio works ok.
The paint is a bit faded in places.
